Location
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
Tucked away in Yorkshire’s green farmland, the refurbished farmhouse is located in a convenient spot, immersed in peaceful nature, yet not far from the city.
Walk around York and shop in the picturesque Shambles Street featuring overhanging timber-framed buildings. Visit the famous York Minster, one of the largest cathedrals in Northern Europe.
Don’t miss the Castle Museum, an insight into the medieval society and the prison system of the time. Cycle on the Solar System route near the farmhouse or explore the surrounding hiking trails.
Food & Accommodation
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
Carla prepares healthy plant-based meals 3 times a day. The majority of meals consists of juices, smoothies and soups. More specific cleansing and detoxing options are also available. Meals are well balanced, you won’t leave feeling hungry!
The old farmhouse has been completely renovated with a rustic minimalism design mixed with stunning Boho glam.
8 bedrooms can accommodate up to 19 guests, all offering en-suite bathrooms, showcasing roll top baths, heated floors and wet rooms.
They are not huge (especially the Bunker room) but cosy and curated. You can play board games, snooker, read a book by the fireplace, or use the free bikes to explore the surroundings.

Teacher Training Courses

No Teacher Training Courses are offered. However, it is worth mentioning that the venue can be rented for weddings, group events or birthday parties.
Value For Money
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 3/5
Retreats are kind of pricey, which comes as no surprise considering the luxurious location. Also the basic retreat is not so cheap. We believe this boutique Yoga centre is mainly destined to an exclusive public rather than backpacking-style yogis.
Rooms are nicely curated but might feel a bit tiny. The yoga studio is also quite small, though you can practise outdoors when it’s sunny or in the barn, when available.
Both Yoga teachers Carla and Megan have extensive experience in Yoga.
Our Opinion
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
If you are looking for a 5-star pampering Yoga experience in the British countryside, then Deighton Lodge is your best bet. The renovated farmhouse is a feast for the eye and the senses.
Rooms are beautiful, just not super spacious. The retreats are focused on Yoga (different styles) and healthy nutrition, rather than a plethora of activities.
Its convenient location and the short-term retreat options make it a perfect getaway for busy people who need to unwind in nature while being in the proximity of the city of York.
